About trip
Dirt Road Outfitters' Kansas deer hunts occur on thousands of acres of privately managed land. Numerous food plots catering for Kansas deer are planted every year. The food plots benefit not only whitetail deer, but all other various types of wildlife seen throughout South Central Kansas. Our properties are loaded with alfalfa, winter wheat, corn, soybeans, milo, & other varities of crops that whitetail deer in Kansas love to browse.

Dirt Road Outfitters in Kansas places a strong emphasis on scouting. With the help of trail cameras and consistent year round scouting, we try to create the perfect Kansas deer hunt for you. Scrapes, rubs, sheds, and trails help us determine the prime spots to place you during your Kansas whitetail hunt. Dirt Road Outfitters wants to provide the deer hunter the best chance of harvesting a mature Kansas whitetail deer by strategically placing the deer hunter on a good Kansas hunting property with a stand that is suited best for current wind direction of the day. Many of our stands are placed in a pinch point or a funnel to help increase the chances that the deer hunter harvests a mature Kansas whitetail deer. For our Kansas deer hunts, Dirt Road Outfitters tries to do everything to give the Kansas deer hunter an upper hand on the wily Kansas whitetail deer. Hunting pinch points or funnels that Kansas whitetail deer frequent does help the deer hunter, but we also place corn out & or feed the Kanas deer a 28% protein mixture year around. If you prefer a true hunt, please let us know when you book your Kansas deer hunting trip. Dirt Road Outfitters leaves a few thousand acres out every year that we do not place any bait out for the deer hunter that likes a natural setting on their whitetail deer hunt.

Dirt Road Outfitters' Kansas deer hunting properties are used for Kansas bow (archery) hunts, Kansas muzzle loader (black powder hunts) & rifle hunting. Kansas bow (archery) hunting takes place during the Kansas whitetail deer pre-rut, rut, and post-rut. We offer a limited number of Kansas deer hunts to ensure you a non pressured hunting experience. We also encourage the Kansas deer hunter to harvest at least one doe after harvesting a Kansas whitetail buck. With nothing but small hunting camps your chances to harvest a good whitetail deer on your Kansas deer hunting trip dramatically increases when you purchase a Kansas deer hunt with us.

Although there is no guarantee that you will harvest an animal, the staff at Dirt Road Outfitters is dedicated to giving you the best chance at a mature whitetail deer. 90% of our deer hunters have had the opportunity on a 150 class whitetail deer on their Kansas deer hunting trip. Contact us for more information on our Kansas deer hunts.

Ladder stands are used for bow hunting. Tower blinds are primarily used, however we do have original tree stands to use for rifle, & muzzleloader season.

The hunter will arrive in camp the day prior to their hunt & will leave the evening after your 5 day hunt ends. We will discuss the aspects of the type of deer we want you to harvest upon your stay with us. Aerial photos will be reviewed during this orientation along with deer sightings on the hoof & on trail cameras, & how to harvest the whitetail with the current stand placements. A guide will be assigned on your hunt to be sure we get the hunter to & from the stand safely & quietly. This guide will also field dress the deer for you & transport it back to our lodge. When the deer is back at the lodge it is your job to tell us how you would like to display your trophy whitetail so we can properly prepare your mount.
