Thanks, Captain, for taking time to talk to us today. Tell us, how did you get started in this business?

 

 

I had always loved the water and had fished in Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, the Gulf Coast and the Florida Keys. I had told my wife years ago if I ever had the chance I would like to get my Captain's license, so she enrolled me in the Sea Academy for a birthday present and the rest is history. I started guiding and sportfishing about 10 years ago it goes hand and hand with our other businesses.

 

 

Where do you take your clients to fish?

 

 

I am a big offshore guy so my passion is trolling for big fish. But fishing out of Destin [Florida] we have the best of both, the beautiful Emerald Coast and the Choctawhatchee Bay. Depending on what they would like to target is where we will go. 

 

 

What is your personal favorite fish to catch?

 

 

My personal favorite is Mahi Mahi--it's a great fight and the best table fare. We will fish for everything, just depends on what our clients would like to do. 

 

 

Do you have a favorite fishing adventure?

 

 

My favorite fishing trip was with my grandson watching him pull in Mahi and then we did a little Snapper fishing on our way back in--that was an awesome trip.

Most folks ask me about the seas, and how far out we will be going. 

 

 

Is there anything else you'd like to share with our readers?

 

 

I am excited about the season--here in Destin we start kicking off in March around Spring Break.
