To deer hunt in Kentucky, you will need the appropriate hunting license:
- (Resident Annual Hunting License for $20 or Non-Resident Annual Hunting License for $140) and the appropriate deer permit (for those 16 and older, you will either need a Resident Statewide Deer Permit for $35 or the Non-Resident Statewide Deer Permit for $120;
- for ages 12-15, you will either need a Resident Youth Hunting License for $6 + a Resident Youth Deer Permit for $10, or Non-Resident Youth Hunting License for $10 + Non-Resident Youth Deer Permit for $15).
- For Kentucky residents only, we recommend a Sportsman's License - - a great value that includes all the necessary licenses and permits for deer hunting PLUS turkey, other types of hunting, and fishing (a value of $140 for only $95). A Youth Sportsman's License is a tremendous value at only $25 for resident youths age 12-15 and includes two deer and two turkey permits.
- (Note that if you are age 16+ and goose or duck hunt, you will also need a federal duck stamp.)
