Mr. Big Fish Sportfishing

Captain Joe Epp has been fishing the Southern California waters for over 30 years. You could say he’s been “addicted to fishing” since he was 5 years old and his Dad took him to “Happy Jacks Trout Farm” in Azusa and he caught his first fish—fishing has been his passion ever since! During the late 80’s Joe spent all of his days off fishing on the Thunderbird out of Davey’s Locker, in Newport Beach. In the early 90’s he fished on some of the best sportfishing boats in Southern California: Top Gun, Shogun, and Thunderbird, with such respected Captains as Norm Kagawa, Craig “Beaker” Jacobs, and Bobby Taft. Joe bought his first boat in the ‘90’s, and has owned several boats over the years, but finally got his Grady White in 2014. San Diego has been his home since 2010 and for the past five years Joe has been exploring the beautiful San Diego coastline fishing for yellowtail, offshore tuna, calico bass, white sea bass, halibut and more, enjoying all that the San Diego coastal waters has to offer. Joe Epp is certified with the U.S. Coast Guard with a 50 Ton 6-Pack (OUPV) Captains license.
